a year agoThe Owl Bar is a very unique spot to dine or to have a drink. It is in the Historic Belvedere Hotel. The Hotel is beautiful but has been converted to private condos. The lobby has it's original characteristics and you can see photos of many famous people who once stayed at the hotel. The food was amazing in the Owl Bar. There is a nice menu with steak, burgers, sandwiches, crab cakes and freshly made pizza. We were lucky enough to get a peak of the 13th floor which is now closed to the public and is used for private parties and events. The view of Baltimore from the 13th floor is fabulous. I would definitely go back. It's dark in the Owl Bar, but has a definite fun vibe to it. It is almost an unknown hideaway. It is definitely worth the visit

Edited 3 years agoOwl Bar is a great place in Mount Vernon for good food and great drinks. It's one of my go-tos if someone asks about a place that feels special and celebratory without feeling stuffy. You could easily meet a group of friends here, a cute date, or a group of coworkers for after-work drinks. Service and hosts here are always pretty busy-- definitely try to reserve your space ahead cause I think it also helps them plan for the night. Now, the interior is INCREDIBLE! The historic building is also a venue space that hosts large events like wedding receptions, but The Owl Bar is tucked in a separate part of the building. Prices for the bar are comparable to most of the neighboring spots, but the food is often hearty and I find it to be more filling (so more bang for your buck here). I have tried and enjoyed their MD Crab Soup, Duck Fat Fries, and house burger (cooked medium-rare)– all were very good! I'm normally cautious with crab soup, as I often find it too salty, but this wasn't too heavy on the Old Bay and had a good amount of crab in it :)

a month agoFor a boisterous bistro experience dripping in charm and history, owl bar delivers. The pizza is killer, but so too is the rest of the menu. A baltimore staple!

2 years agoWe were looking for a 20s inspired bar that served food and had my favorite drink. This place was awesome! Not only was Bee's Knees on the menu, it was perfect. We had a chicken sandwich and the duck fat fries, and we were impressed. The music was great, and service was even better! I wish we lived in Baltimore to be able to visit frequently. You have 2 Texans who will definitely visit if we go back.

4 months agoVery posh but great atmosphere. High prices, but delicious. Got some good quality, flavorful and festive beer, as well as two pieces of cake. 1 was an absolute banger- the carrot cheesecake was absolutely delectable. The other was similar to a dirty taste…. And overpriced. 24.00$ for both slices. What a steal, but good. 12.45 for a chicken finger and 12 oranges. What does that tell you on a first impression? Accessible through the hotel. Dress preppy, maybe business casual. Don’t look homeless. Fresh area. Good food. Good beer. Can’t go wrong. 🍺

6 months agoThe Owl Bar is Located inside the Historic Belvedere Hotel in Baltimore Maryland. Take time to look at the picture wall with all the famous people that have stayed, played or visited this place. The Owl bar is an old Speakeasy from back in the prohibition days you can still see wood and decor from the early 1900s.

a year agoBrunch on Saturday—we were the first one there! Dark and rustic vibes, super cool. Just a little empty. Got the baked brie and truffle burger with house fries! Friends got biscuits (gravy was delicious) and belvedere breakfast without meat. Everything came out fresh and hot, and portions were generous! This place pleasantly surprised us! Would come again to try the duck fat fries.

3 months agoExplore Baltimore - The Owl Bar 1 East Chase St Baltimore, MD 21202 The Belvedere first opened in winter over a century ago, on December 14, 1903. Hotel Belvedere, as it was originally named, played host to some of the most famous and influential people alive. Its opening was the social event of the season attended by leaders of art, fashion, industry and finance, gangsters and detectives, developers and financiers, royalty and presidents, movie stars and sports heroes were drawn to its doorsteps.

5 months agoWe were searching for a cute, classy bar with great happy hour deals on a Saturday afternoon when we stumbled upon The Owl Bar — and what a delightful discovery it was! Tucked inside the historic Belvedere, this bar is truly a step back in time. We quickly learned that The Owl Bar has hosted countless celebrities, names like Sarah Jessica Parker, Al Pacino, Danny DeVito, and many more have all dined or sipped here. They have also hosted well-known performers, musicians, and even political figures over the decades. Hearing stories from the knowledgeable Brian (our bartender) made the experience even more fascinating. Their happy hour menu offered excellent deals on both food and drinks. I ordered a margarita and wings, while our friends enjoyed their cocktails and a pretzel. We were tempted to try the brick oven pizza — they have a real wood-fired oven installed after the remodel. Except, we had dinner reservations later that evening. Next time, it’s definitely on our list! The atmosphere is nothing short of stunning. Stained glass, vintage decor, and a dark, intimate setting create a warm and elegant vibe. My favorite touch? The zebra-print booth seating — a bold and unexpected detail that gives the space real character. Service was top-notch from start to finish. The staff was organized, friendly, and efficient — no wait time, quick cleanup, and plenty of attention to detail. It’s bittersweet that the Belvedere no longer operates as a hotel, but we learned that many of the rooms have been converted into private condos. The building still hosts events and weddings in its gorgeous ballrooms, which you can even tour on weekends. If you’re looking for a place that blends rich history, atmosphere, and quality service, The Owl Bar is an absolute must-visit. Highly recommend!
